Recently I posted a Question on Linkedin. The question was "How In your opinion Can we utilize Blogs and Chats in Corporate Learning" I was surprised to see various answers, however, very few if any, outlined the key objectives of utilizing these in elements in the learning strategy. And that prompted me to jump on Blogger and create a blog focused on researching and sharing best practices on utilizing Web 2 components in Corporate Education.
My thoughts are, with the changing face of work place, training needs to be performance centric, re-usable, interactive and peer based. Most of the education programs and especially eLearning programs in today's environment, ignore the key principles of Adult Education. They are typically linear progression of content and even the blended programs have few interactions with the learner.
The learner today in my opinion has shorter time to get educated and seeks Alternate Ways of Learning. I am sure we all can think of occasions where each one of us has used our "Peers" or Google to get to speed on something on an immediate basis..... So Why can't we as Learning Professionals utilize and harness this technology to build "Peer Based Learning"???
The environment could have knowledge objects with chunks of content along with blogs and threaded chats to reinforce the learning......???
